We all know the old saying, It’s not about the destination. It’s about the journey. This parmi somehow made it about both

The Top Town Tavern is a tasty treasure tempting travellers to take the turn through West Wyalong.

West Wyalong is a long way from just about everywhere. After 11 hours behind the wheel, this was my first meal. By the first bite, the debt of the drive had been paid - it didn’t matter anymore. It felt like the reward at the end of it all.

The chicken was well cooked, beer battered crust kept it moist, a generous layer of sauce was topped with bubbling cheese.

The plate could hardly contain this meal, chips spilling onto the table as the diners poked around the dish planning their first cut.
